Gain StageUsed audio interfaces

About

We help people buy a used audio interface that works with the computer they own. Name the one you’re after, like a Scarlett 2i2, a MOTU M4, an Apollo Twin or a PreSonus Studio 1810c, and there’s a page for it. Each one tells you the model’s story, how to tell its generation apart, whether it still gets drivers, what should come with it and what to check before you buy.

What recordists know about this gear is scattered across user guides, support pages, driver download lists, reviews and forum threads, and a raw eBay search gives you none of it. So we keep 29 model pages in one place, write down the tells that usually take a few bad buys to learn (a listing that says 3rd Gen on a 2nd Gen box, drivers that stopped at an old macOS, a missing power supply, plug-ins that stay with the first owner, crackly gain knobs) and pick the listings we’d buy.

We don’t sell studio gear. No affiliate links. We earn nothing. We only recommend what we’d buy, and we’d rather you buy used. We run no analytics or tracking cookies, and we’re not affiliated with any audio interface maker. See how we work for how the pages are researched and our disclosure for how links, picks and photos work.

Gain Stage is part of allbutnew, a set of shops for secondhand gear. Got an interface to sell? The “Get an offer” link on every model page sends it to our studio gear expert, who replies by email.
