The 26c takes the 24c's two XMAX-L combo inputs and adds a second pair of outputs, so monitors can run from 1/2 while 3/4 feeds a headphone amp or a second set of speakers. A Cue A/B button flips the rear headphone jack between those two mixes, which is why PreSonus pitched it at DJs and electronic musicians. The gain range is wider than the 24c's, at 70 dB, and it keeps MIDI in and out and runs on USB bus power. The manual dates from 2019, and it replaced the silver Studio 2|6, which had a USB-B port. PreSonus no longer sells it new, but Universal Control still supports it. Pick it over a 24c if you want the extra outputs or need more gain for a quiet dynamic mic.

How to tell it apart
The 26c is black with blue end caps and STUDIO 26c on the front, and its meter window has four lit buttons around it, 48V, Line, Mon and A/B, which the 24c doesn't have. Around the back there are four 1/4-inch outputs, Line Out 3/4 and Main Out. The earlier Studio 2|6 USB has the same layout in silver with blue knobs, and a square USB-B port where the 26c has USB-C.
Mac and Windows
Drivers and support
It's class compliant on Mac and iPad, and PreSonus has supported it on Apple Silicon Macs since Universal Control 3.4.2 in March 2021. Windows needs the ASIO driver in Fender Universal Control, whose 5.1 release (July 2026) names the Studio 26c and supports Windows 10 22H2, Windows 11 24H2 and macOS 13.7.8 or later. PreSonus no longer sells it new, but its macOS 27 page (October 2026) still lists it as supported.
Two 1 m cables, USB-C to USB-C and USB-C to USB-A.
No power supply. It runs from the USB port.
Software is tied to the first registration. A 26c registered for the first time today gets a 6-month Fender Studio Pro trial, and earlier units came with Studio One Artist and the Studio Magic suite. Fender's transfer page says software that came free with hardware can't be transferred, so assume a used one comes without a licence.
Check the listing photos against this list, and ask the seller about anything you can’t see. A missing power supply or a licence that won’t transfer should come off the price.
What to check
We didn't find a widely reported 26c fault in PreSonus's support notes or reviews. Test what wears on any used interface, the gain knobs, the 48V switch, the rear headphone jack and the USB-C socket.
01Model: Check the photos for a black front with STUDIO 26c and the four lit buttons around the meters. Silver with blue knobs is the older Studio 2|6.
02Gain knobs: Ask for a short video turning each gain knob end to end while recording. It should stay quiet, with no crackle.
03Phantom power: Ask the seller to press 48V with a condenser mic plugged in. The button should light blue and the mic should work on both inputs.
04Outputs and Cue A/B: Ask whether outputs 3/4 and the headphone jack were tested. Pressing A/B should switch the headphones between the two mixes.
05USB-C socket: Ask whether the USB-C plug sits firmly. The unit shouldn't drop out when the cable is moved.
06Your computer: Check your OS against Fender Universal Control's current requirements. Good is an up-to-date macOS Ventura or later, Windows 10 22H2 or Windows 11 24H2.
We'd buy the 26c at $128 delivered from a 100% seller, pictured with its retail box. Only 6 are for sale on eBay US today and most ask $110–150 delivered, and PreSonus no longer sells it new, so that's the whole market. Three of the six show only the box, so ask for photos of the unit itself, with a black front, STUDIO 26c and four lit buttons around the meters, since silver with blue knobs is the older Studio 2|6 with a USB-B port. Ask for outputs 3/4 and the headphone A/B switch to be tested, and don't count on any Studio One licence, which Fender says can't be transferred. Skip the $57 one from an 88.5% seller, whose photo shows a silver Studio 2|6.
