PreSonus · Entry · USB · c.2018 on
PreSonus moved its Studio range from silver and blue to black when it launched the c-series, and the 24c is the smallest of them. Its manual dates from 2018, and PreSonus still sells it new. Like the Studio 2|4 before it, it's a two-in, two-out box with two combo inputs, ladder LED meters for the inputs and mains, MIDI in and out, and a Mixer knob that blends your inputs with computer playback. The preamps are XMAX-L, a solid-state design PreSonus made to run on bus power, so the 24c needs nothing but its USB-C cable. Gain tops out at 50 dB, which is plenty for condensers but can run short with quiet dynamic mics. Find one with both USB cables and it's ready to record.
In the photos
The 24c is black with blue end caps, black knobs and STUDIO 24c printed top right, with a ladder LED meter window between the inputs and the knobs. The earlier Studio 2|4 USB looks almost the same but has a silver front, blue knobs and a blue rear panel. The ioStation 24c is a different product with a built-in fader and transport controls.
Mac and Windows
It's class compliant on Mac and iPad, so no driver is needed there, and PreSonus has supported it on Apple Silicon Macs since Universal Control 3.4.2 in March 2021. Windows needs the ASIO driver in Fender Universal Control, whose 5.1 release (July 2026) names the Studio 24c and supports Windows 10 22H2, Windows 11 24H2 and macOS 13.7.8 or later. PreSonus's macOS 27 page (October 2026) lists it as supported.
Power, cables and licences
Check the listing photos against this list, and ask the seller about anything you can’t see. A missing power supply or a licence that won’t transfer should come off the price.
We didn't find a widely reported 24c fault in PreSonus's support notes or reviews. Test what wears on any used interface, the gain knobs, the 48V switch, the rear headphone jack and the USB-C socket.
Buying your first one? How to pick a first used interface covers inputs, mic gain and drivers, and the power supply guide covers which ones need their adapter.
Buying guide
We'd buy the used 24c at $77 delivered from a 100% seller, under the band and about $100 less than a new one. There are at least 19 for sale and most ask $90–180 delivered, but used US units ask $77–112, new ones ask about $178–180, and Japan imports run $157–244. Check the photos for a black front with STUDIO 24c and blue end caps, since a silver front with blue knobs is the older Studio 2|4, and ask for a short video turning each gain knob end to end while recording. Any Studio One licence belonged to the first owner, and Fender says it can't be transferred, so don't pay extra for one in a title. Skip the $56 listing, whose photo shows a different blue PreSonus box.

New card. The title's Studio One Artist was the old bundle; a 24c registered new today gets a Fender Studio Pro trial.
